Raebareli is a historic district situated on the banks of the Sai River. The ancient Ghat at Dalmau, Samaspur Bird Sanctuary, Unchahar Thermal Power Project, and the Munshiganj area are among the district’s prominent features. Agriculture, milk production, and the cultivation of Amla and wheat form the foundation of the local economy. Under the One District One Cuisine Programme, Masala has been selected for Raebareli district.

Spice processing in Raebareli is primarily undertaken in Lalganj, Unchahar, Maharajganj, Salon, and Raebareli Sadar. Coriander, turmeric, chilli, Garam Masala, and blended spices are produced by local small-scale industries. These quality spices are supplied for household consumption and to markets in neighbouring districts. More than 200 people are employed across over 100 units engaged in this industry.
