Known as the“Gateway to Uttar Pradesh,” Ghaziabad is a highly urbanised and modern industrial metropolitan city adjoining Delhi. The district is a major centre for engineering goods, electronics, real estate, and steel-manufacturing units. It is also one of the fastest-growing cities in Uttar Pradesh. Under the One District One Cuisine Programme, Soya Chaap and Mirch ka Achar have been selected for Ghaziabad district.

Ghaziabad’s Soya Chaap is famous for its rich, creamy, and intensely spicy taste. Before being roasted in a Tandoor, the Chaap is thoroughly marinated in a thick mixture of curd, Chaat Masala, and Kashmiri red chilli. Cooking it over charcoal gives it a distinctive smoky flavour. It is served hot with butter, fresh cream, chopped green chillies, and Rumali Roti.

Ghaziabad’s Chilli Pickle is a traditional condiment known for its bold, spicy flavour and aromatic blend of spices. Fresh green chillies are typically combined with ingredients such as mustard, fennel, turmeric, and other spices before being preserved in oil, allowing the flavours to develop over time. Its fiery taste and aromatic character make Chilli Pickle a popular accompaniment to everyday Indian meals.
