Etawah is situated near the confluence region of the Chambal and Yamuna rivers. The National Chambal Sanctuary, Etawah Safari Park, Jaswantnagar, and Bharthana are among its prominent areas and attractions. Potato and mustard cultivation, milk production, and the ravine landscape are the district’s distinctive features. Under the One District One Cuisine Programme, Sarson Aadharit Utpad, Matthe Wale Aloo, and Kheer Mohan have been selected for Etawah district.

Matthe Wale Aloo is famous as a traditional dish in Saifai, Jaswantnagar, Bharthana, and Ekdil. Boiled potatoes are cooked with Mattha and spices. Its tangy and spicy flavour is particularly enjoyed during family meals and functions.

Kheer Mohan is a famous sweet of Etawah city, Bharthana, Jaswantnagar, and Bakewar. Prepared using chhena and khoa, the sweet is immersed in sugar syrup. Its soft texture, syrupy taste, and attractive appearance make it a distinctive local speciality.

Mustard chutney and mustard-leaf salad are popular in Saifai, Bharthana, Jaswantnagar, and Basrehar. The spicy chutney and fresh salad prepared from locally grown mustard are an integral part of rural meals and represent the region’s traditional taste.
